Growth plan

During autumn 2008 the Municipality of Esbjerg has adopted a new growth strategy. The focus of the strategy is to launch a number of initiatives to help ensure continued growth and to ensure that the municipality continues to be attractive to our citizens, immigrants and industry in the years to come.

Esbjerg Business Development Centre is responsible for 5 of the 16 initiatives underpinning the growth strategy. Based on the analysis that underlies the growth strategy, the following vision for the Municipality of Esbjerg has been formulated:

"In 2015 Esbjerg is a coherent municipality with energy within education, business and tourism.

The municipality is the Danish entre for energy technology based on a strong business cluster and a strong educational and research milieu.

Genuine experiences based on the municipality's cultural, historical and scenic attractions, provides a framework for a growing tourism industry."
